Information we collect

Vocilio does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. The app operates entirely on your device. No information is sent to our servers or to any third party, because the app has no servers and uses no third-party services.

Data stored on your device

Vocilio stores the following data locally within the app’s private sandbox on your device:

• Audio recordings (WAV files)
• Text transcripts generated from your recordings
• AI-generated summaries of transcripts
• Note metadata (duration, language, creation date)
• Project names and associations
• App preferences (language, recording settings, lock preference)

This data is accessible only to the Vocilio app and is not shared with other apps or services. It is never transmitted off your device.

Device permissions

Vocilio requests the following device permissions:

• Microphone — required to record voice notes. Audio is saved locally and never transmitted.
• Speech Recognition — used to transcribe recordings into text using Apple’s on-device Speech framework. All recognition runs locally; no audio data is sent to Apple or any third party.
• Face ID / Touch ID — optionally used if you enable the app lock feature. Biometric data is managed entirely by iOS and is never accessed by Vocilio.

Each permission is requested only when you first use the corresponding feature, never at app launch.

Apple Intelligence

Vocilio uses the Apple Foundation Models framework to generate summaries of your transcripts. This processing runs entirely on your device using Apple Intelligence. No transcript or summary data is sent to Apple servers or any third party. This feature is available only on devices that support Apple Intelligence.

Third-party services

Vocilio does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising frameworks, or crash-reporting services. The app contains no tracking code of any kind.

Data sharing

Vocilio does not share any data with third parties. You can manually copy a transcript to your clipboard or trigger a Shortcut that passes data to other apps — these actions are initiated entirely by you and are not controlled by Vocilio.

Data retention and deletion

All data is stored on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. You can delete individual notes at any time from within the app. When a note is deleted, the associated audio file, transcript, and summary are permanently removed.

If you uninstall Vocilio, iOS automatically removes all app data from your device, including recordings, transcripts, summaries, and preferences.

Children’s privacy

Vocilio does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. The app is not directed at children under 13, but since no data collection occurs, there are no specific age-related risks.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data. Since Vocilio does not collect or process any personal data on our end, these rights are effectively exercised by you directly on your device — you have full control over all your data at all times.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app or applicable legislation. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Since Vocilio has no way to send notifications, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
